Here at West Way we love helping local councils and businesses go green! Oldham council have just taken delivery of two 100% electric Nissan e-NV200 vans from our Oldham dealership! This adds to the eight all-electric Nissan LEAFs it already has in service across the region.
The groundbreaking vans, will join the LEAFs as pool vehicles and will be shared by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Police.
The new vehicles, which cost just two pence per mile to run and offer zero emissions mobility, will help the local authority further reduce its carbon footprint and provide better value for money for taxpayers.
Based at locations across Oldham, the now 10-strong electric vehicle fleet is available for use by council, police and fire service employees in the course of their duties – significantly reducing the cost and impact of essential journeys.
Launched earlier this year, the Nissan e-NV200 combines the NV200 – a former International Van of the Year – with the proven technology of the record breaking Nissan LEAF – the world’s bestselling electric car.
In addition to low running costs and emissions, the e-NV200 also boasts low maintenance costs that make for unrivaled total cost of ownership – £1,200 lower than a conventional diesel van over four years. Meanwhile, the model, offers a class-leading 4.2m3 capacity and an impressive 703kg payload.
The electric engine also offers a unique driving experience that which means that there is no vibration in the cabin due to engine vibration!
Our Business Centre Manager at Oldham, Urfi Hossain, said: “The e-NV200 is the perfect choice for public sector organisations and, in fact, any business that wants a versatile and capable van with ultra low running costs.”
