NISSAN’S award-winning Navara is taking a trans-Atlantic trip to the spiritual home of the pickup truck later this month. There it will do battle in a gruelling off-road event that will push its ‘tough and smart’ credentials to the limit.

The Nissan Navara Double Cab is a fusion for those who appreciate a big SUV style, with the ability to play nice on those weekend family outings. The Navara is more than a workhorse, it has a one tonne carry capacity and the tenacity of any heavy-duty SUV, but with the ability to float across bumps like a car. ‘It’s no car, but if being car-like was the aim, Nissan has done a fine job. Although a highly competitive sector, the new Nissan Navara has come out on top in the pick-up category in the 2017 WhatVan? Awards. Positioning against some big rivals such as the Mitsubishi L200, the Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok, WhatVan? awarded best pick-up to the Nissan Navara for upgrades in styling, engineering, fuel efficiency and technology to name a few. It’s still a tough pick-up, but a lot more sophisticated than others in its class.
