14-day money back guarantee on all used cars

If you purchased as a consumer and entered into a contract to purchase goods remotely or you haven’t taken a test drive, you will have the benefit of a 14-day cancellation and return period which is subject to the terms set out below.

To exercise your 14 day right to return to us, you must notify us in writing of your intent to cancel by email or post, or by completing the Intent to cancel order form online at https://www.westway.co.uk/cancel-order. Your right to cancel starts the day the order is placed and expires 14 days after you, or any third party on your behalf, take delivery of the vehicle and is subject to the following:

 

  1. We have the right to make a deduction of £1 for each mile driven in excess of 50 miles
  2. We have the right to make further deductions for any damage or excess wear
  3. We cannot accept return of a vehicle if it has been modified or altered in any way
  4. All monies paid to us will be refunded within 14 days of receiving the cancellation notice, subject to the return of the vehicle during this time frame.
  5. You remain liable for the tax, insurance and any fines, charges or penalties until the time we have accepted the vehicle back to our premises.
  6. You are responsible for returning the vehicle both in terms of the cost and its safe delivery in the same condition as when sold to you.
  7. You must stop using the vehicle other than to return it to us which must be within 14 days of your notice to return.
  8. Please note these cancellation terms only apply where no tri-party agreement is in place with a funder (i.e. a finance provider). If there is a tri-party agreement, you will be subject to the cancellation terms and conditions of the funder. You will need to check your rights with the tri-party.
  9. The reimbursement will be made, where possible, using the same means of payment used for the initial transaction. This may include the return of any part exchange vehicle or seeking payment from you to cover any negative equity.
  10. We will only make a reimbursement after the vehicle has been inspected by us to determine its condition and usage and all documents have been returned to us, including the V5.
  11. Any deductions will be notified to you.
  12. We reserve the right to only register a vehicle with the DVLA on expiry of the 14-day period.
  13. Cherished plate transfers are at a cost to the consumer.
