Nissan Electric Range & Charging

Don’t suffer from electric range anxiety any longer. The electric LEAF is an everyday driving vehicle, yes that means long distances. Achieved due to 3 driving modes. These modes are designed to help manage the electric power used while driving. As well as an ever-extending charging network that is growing every day (as of August 2019 there are 9489 charging locations in the UK). These factors help alleviate that anxiety of running on empty with the LEAF's battery.

How Far Will You Go?

Nissan has provided an electric range simulator for the Nissan LEAF. The electric range of a car can be affected by several factors. Elements such as weather, driving speed, number of passengers and what's in your boot. As well as which driving mode you're using and if you're using the LEAFs air conditioning. Click on the image below to open the 'LEAF range calculator'. Adjust the calculator tool to find the range of the Nissan LEAF and the Nissan LEAF e+ according to your driving conditions.

Eco Mode

When you need to go further select eco mode to conserve electric power. Travel up to 10% further*

B Mode

Recharge on the go like an F1 car. Mode B lets you recharge your battery while on the move by recovering energy from braking.

D Mode

Power! Select D Mode to immediately maximise your torque.

To achieve the most mileage out of your LEAF or LEAF e+ use the following driving modes together. Turn on ECO mode, plus driving mode B. This driving mode combination conserves energy. You'll be able to regenerate power back into the battery when applying the LEAFs breaks.

* Range figures are obtained from laboratory testing in accordance with EU legislation and are intended for comparison between the different types of vehicles. The information does not refer to a particular individual vehicle and does not constitute part of the offer. The figures may not reflect real driving results. Optional equipment, maintenance, driving behaviour and non-technical factors like weather conditions may affect the official results. Figures were determined under the new Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) test cycle.

** Figures quoted are for 40kWh (LEAF) and 62kWh (LEAF e+) batteries. Time-dependent on charging conditions, including charger type and condition, battery temperature as well as ambient temperature at the point of use. Indicated rapid charging time requires the use of a CHAdeMO rapid charger. The Nissan LEAF is designed to support the majority of journeys in daily life and is equipped with charging safeguards to protect the battery during repeated rapid charging sessions in a short period of time. The time taken for successive rapid charging can take longer if the battery temperature activates the battery safeguarding technology.
