How does the Motability scheme work?
The Motability scheme is simple. You choose a car available on the Motability scheme, and you exchange your eligible Motability allowance (or part of it depending on the car you choose) for a car lease.
The car you lease can also be adapted to suit your requirements; adaptations can be made for driving, access and storing mobility aids.
Even if you don’t drive, you can still apply for a Motability vehicle and choose up to two nominated drivers on your behalf.
Your Motability scheme will last for three years and allow you to cover 60,000 miles.
When the scheme ends, you return the vehicle like you would with a regular lease.
