Small car technology revolutionised in the New Nissan Note! Nissan continues to propel its way forward in innovation and style, with the all new Nissan Note which is due to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on 5th March.

The new model will follow in the technological footsteps of the hugely popular Qashqai and Juke, in that the high end gadgetry previously available only in the higher specification models will for the first time, be applied to one of the small cars in its range. In addition, the Note will be the first model to launch the Nissan Safety Shield. Key features of the Nissan Safety Shield include Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Moving Object Detection technology. The Blind Spot Warning uses its rear camera to detect blind spots around the vehicle, so that a warning light will appear in the wing mirror and an audible warning will sound if it detects another vehicle moving into your blind spot. The Lane Departure Warning will detect even faint road markings and warn you if you drift out of lane position without indicating and the Moving Object Detection function will alert you to objects which might approach you when reversing (ie a person/child). These features are further assisted by the Around View Monitor System (previously only available on the Qashqai) which uses rear view cameras and cameras on the front grille and wing mirrors to help you when parallel and reverse parking. Even more impressive is the innovative engineering that has gone into the cameras themselves. As the Safety Shield features heavily rely on the rear view camera, it constantly scans the camera for dirt, which when detected is cleaned by the system squirting a jet of water at it, followed by a jet of air to dry the camera! If all this tech wasn’t enough, the Note also comes with enhanced Connect satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a 5.8-inch touch-screen display which uses Google 'send to car' software. The New Nissan Note is due to go on sale in autumn so watch this space!
