The Barn Kitchen is a restaurant based in Coventry, which since having to shut its doors to the public due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), have decided to make the most of their resources to create food packs for frontline NHS doctors, nurses, paramedics and even the Fire Service.
The Barn Kitchen have been delivering food packs to these essential services using the kind donations from local businesses and the community. The Barn Kitchen approached West Way for support and we are delighted to provide a brand-new Nissan NV300 van to help them with the deliveries. This van will help increase their capacity for deliveries, some of which take place in the evening to ensure that the night-shift staff are also fed.
Managing Director of West Way, Tony Lewis commented: “Some very special people are really stepping up and doing extraordinary things to support the NHS staff. Kelly and her volunteer staff at The Barn Kitchen are offering an outstanding service in Coventry and Warwickshire and have so far distributed 35,000 meals to NHS staff and the staff building the NHS Nightingale Birmingham Hospital at the NEC. We are delighted to be able to help and provide our support. Time was of the essence and our team were able to make this happen in the day to ensure even more meals were supplied to our wonderful NHS staff on the day of delivery. If you’d like to support Kelly and The Barn Kitchen, a donation of just £5 will ensure that 4 NHS staff will be able to get a good meal.”
The Barn Kitchen have put out a call for donations of money and food as their supplies are starting to run too low to create sufficient meal packs. You can make a monetary donation via their JustGiving page here:
