Stourbridge – Dudley Zoo & Castle Dudley Zoo & Castle is set in the surroundings of an 11
th century castle and you will see a variety of animals, from African Hunting Dogs to Guinea Pigs to Lions!
Wolverhampton – RAF Cosford Museum This museum is the only museum in the country dedicated purely to military aviation. At the museum, you will be able to explore the engines, missiles, uniforms and medals that are displayed at the museum, along with a whole host of interactive kiosks and hot spots!
Birmingham – Sutton Park National Nature Reserve Covering over 2,000 acres of land, Sutton Park National Nature Reserve is surrounded by woodlands and beautiful scenery. Take a stroll around the park, get involved with a touch of orienteering or try out one of the restaurants on site, whatever you get up to you’ll be in for an extremely pleasant day!
Coventry – Coventry Transport Museum Of course here at West Way, we’re a fan of all things to do with transport! With free admission, this museum will teach you all you need to know about British transport past and present.
Rochdale – Hollingworth Lake Activity Centre Hollingworth Lake Activity Centre will prove a great day out for all of the family. You will be able to get involved with a range of activities, including kayaking, climbing, canoeing and windsurfing. This will be different to most days out, and what’s even better is that you’ll be keeping active at the same time!
Oldham – Stonerig Raceway Stonering Raceway is a great way of getting the family together and having some fun. Stonerig Raceway has 7 different Scalextric tracks which you can all try out, this is an extremely exciting day out for each member of the family!
Stockport – Air Raid Shelters This will be a really interesting experience for anyone, especially any budding historians in the Stockport area! Real shelters built in 1939, they provide an insight into life during the Blitz and are very popular amongst tourists.
Manchester – Trafford Centre It would be wrong to take a trip to Manchester without treating yourself to some retail therapy at the Trafford Centre, surely! With the best range of high street and designer shops on offer, it will be a real challenge to leave the Trafford Centre without some new purchases.
