Nissan ARIYA vs Tesla Model Y

Nissan has maintained the majority of the ARIYA concept car styling features and brought them to life in the production model. Design elements such as the light-up Nissan badge connected LED tailgate bar and coupe-style roofline really set it apart from competitor models. The ARIYA is a different look for the Nissan brand; the new electric platform allowed the designers to play with the bodylines and shape of the vehicle and create something really special.

Tesla seems to have taken a safe approach when designing the Model Y, as it appears to be solely based on the Model 3 but with some extra height. As well as familiar body style, Tesla’s design also offers a grille-less front end and their signature headlights. The Model Y is sleek and sculptured but at on 10% bigger than the Model 3, is it really an SUV?

The interior of the Nissan ARIYA is like no other Nissan model we have ever seen. Its flowing clean lines, serene lighting, and futuristic cockpit offer a calm environment to spend time in. With no engine upfront, the designers were able to create more space in the cabin and a virtually flat floor, giving the occupants unrivaled space and leg room. The ARIYA also features two large 12.3inch displays that sit in front of the driver, extending out past the centre of the dash.

As we expected, the Model Y interior is exactly the same as the Model 3, but as the saying goes, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. Tesla is known for their clean and super minimalist interiors that are dominated by one large digital screen in the centre console and the Model Y continues this trend. Like the ARIYA, because there is no engine in the front, the Tesla Model Y is spacious and takes advantage of the flat floor layout. However, by squeezing in 7 seats, whilst useful, does make the car look a little bit cramped.
