Nissan’s Drive To Boost Football Charity KitAid

Nissan Motor (GB) is calling on members of the public to help it kit out underprivileged children and adults in countries across the world, through a new scheme with charity - KitAid.

Launched on September 13th and running for six weeks in 15 dealerships throughout the UK, the scheme encourages members of the public to donate pre-loved football kit through its dealer network, to KitAid. Everyone who donates will receive a prize draw code they can enter online, with the chance to win tickets to this season’s UEFA Champions League, of which Nissan is the official automotive partner.Calling Out For Kit - Nissan?s Drive To Boost Football Charity Since starting in 1998, KitAid has sent more than 400,000 kits to children and adults in 40 different countries across the world. Founder of KitAid, Derrick Williams MBE said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Nissan on this pilot, particularly as it has developed all the way through the business from a graduate’s idea. Collaborating with Nissan will be of huge support to widen our network and continue to support the beautiful game for all, throughout the world.” Nissan Motors GB Managing Director, Alex Smith added: “We encourage our dealerships to connect with their local communities in lots of innovative ways and many already have great tie ups with local football clubs. Our project with KitAid widens this support network in an exciting way. We’re proud to be supporting such a worthy cause, through such a fantastic initiative.” Ayo Awe, a graduate employee at Nissan Motor (GB) headquarters in Maple Cross, came up with the idea as an entry into the company’s employee programme - the Chairman’s Innovation Awards, which is designed to nurture top talent and inspire innovative ideas from within the business. He said: “As someone who likes to drive innovation and change, this was a simple but important project. Nissan has an exciting affiliation with football through our Champion’s League partnership and calling on members of the public to donate kit will have a hugely positive impact to children and adults of impoverished countries, who just want to play the game but have nothing suitable to wear to play it.” Calling Out For Kit - Nissan’s Drive To Boost Football Charity The dealerships involved are West Way Manchester, and Glyn Hopkin dealerships in Romford, St Albans, Watford, Milton Keynes, Ipswich, Bishop’s Stortford, Colchester, Chelmsford, Waltham Abbey, Buckhurst Hill, East London (Manor Park), Bedford, Cambridge and North London (Stamford Hill). To donate kit to the scheme, visit any one of the dealerships listed above with your kit. All clean shirts, boots, shorts and further football paraphernalia are most welcome. Drop your kit off and receive a Nissan branded recyclable bag and be entered into the draw to win a pair of UEFA Champions League tickets.
