Just as we thought the GT-R couldn’t get any faster! The iconic sports car, which was first released in Japan back in 2007, has recently had a few nips and tucks both inside and out. The result is the latest addition to the Nismo family, which is set to be released in Japan September 2014 and in Europe soon after. With a tweaked engine capable of lapping the Nürburgring in less than 7min 9sec, the model will officially be the fastest production car to ever lap the Nürburgring, a motorsports complex built around the village of Nürburg in Germany. Nissan has employed innovative and uncompromising engineering and motorsports-inspired technologies to master the GT-R Nismo’s new levels of speed, power and handling. However, the main power boost comes from the upgraded version of the standard GT-R’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 engine, which can now achieve 591bhp at 6800rpm. As well as power, the GT-R Nismo does not disappoint when it comes to comfort, offering a smooth ride and a refined interior. Designed to inspire driver confidence, the cockpit features excellent craftsmanship and an optimised driving position, whilst the red trimmed interior and racer inspired steering wheel add further to its sporty feel. On the outside, the enhanced lights and gold-tinted effect are the perfect complement to the six-spoke alloys, which look superb in gloss black. There has also been a carbon fibre body kit added with a rear spoiler, front bumper and front undertray, which produces 100kg more downforce than the standard car at 186mph. If that wasn’t enough, some of the other changes include new rear anti-roll bars, springs, exclusive Nismo tyres developed by Dunlop, special links in the front double wishbones and custom Damptronic dampers developed by Bilstein. The Nissan GT-R Nismo is a truly outstanding and innovative vehicle and is sure to cause a stir in the motoring industry like it has done in the Tokyo Motor Show! gtr nismo
