West Way proudly supports the Nissan Sunderland Plant. It was established in 1984 and production begun in 1986 making it one of the most essential industries in the North East for over twenty years investing over £3.3 billion.   Since its opening in 1986, it has produced over six million vehicles; 81% of those units produced have been shipped to over 97 markets nationwide. Currently, they manufacture Nissan's most popular model, the Qashqai, as well as the Qashqai+2 and newcomer Juke. There are not many industries still producing products in the UK and distributing them overseas, thus, the Nissan Sunderland Plant is viewed as an asset to the country. In addition, the Plant helps the economy employing over 5000 people and between the Nissan European Design Centre in Paddington and the Nissan European Technical Centre in Bedfordshire, Nissan have another 550 employees. This is a rarity in today's harsh financial climate and West Way is delighted to be associated with a supporter of the UK's production and trade industry.
