Nissan e-NV200 Triumphs At The What Van? Awards

The 100% electric Nissan e-NV200 has been awarded the ‘Green’ award at the What Van? Awards 2019.

The 100% electric Nissan e-NV200 has underlined its versatility and class-leading efficiency by carrying away the ‘Green’ award at the What Van? Awards 2019.

The annual awards highlight the best of the best in the highly competitive LCV market with What Van? praising the Nissan e-NV200’s impressive real-word range, flexible charging options and payload.

Enhanced for 2018 with the 40kWh battery that provides 60 per cent more range, the Nissan e-NV200 can cover 124-187 miles (WLTP City and Combined cycle) between charges, while it also offers business users a 705kg payload and enough cargo space to accommodate two Euro pallets. A choice of panel van and Evalia people-carrier versions add to its practicality.

On awarding the Nissan e-NV200, James Dallas, Editor, What Van?, said: “A longer range, a fast-charging facility and impressive load-carrying credentials make the new e-NV200 a compelling proposition for businesses making deliveries in inner cities.”

Iker Lazzari, Fleet Director at Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd, said: “We are delighted to accept this award and it’s representative of how we have developed the e-NV200 to make it even more usable and cost-effective for businesses and private owners. What is exceptionally pleasing is that the e-NV200 has taken the award at a time when the electric LCV sector is rapidly evolving with more and more vehicles entering the market.”

With multi-drop deliveries rising at a pace due to the ever-increasing trend of online purchases, the Nissan e-NV200 is the perfect LCV for ‘last-mile’ deliveries in urban areas. As well as offering zero emissions, low running and SMR costs, the UK’s best-selling pure electric van is exempt from road tax, the London Congestion Charge, and from all proposed LEZ (Low Emissions Zone) and ULEZ (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) charges.

Automatic transmission, instant torque and near silent running, also add to the e-NV200’s suitability for use in heavily-congested, highly-populated areas. Using a rapid charger, it can be charged from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in 40 to 60 minutes.

Using the NissanConnect app, e-NV200 owners can also digitally track and log driver reports, check information on battery charge level, start charging and set the vehicle’s climate control remotely, using their smartphone, tablet or computer.

The e-NV200 features Nissan’s unique bi-directional charging technology, enabling operators to return excess energy stored in the battery back to the grid. This capability could help generate extra revenue from charging the van when energy costs are low, and selling it back to the grid at peak times.
